The Idaho Review remains open to a wide range of possibilities within the literary arts. We welcome both traditional and experimental works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, novellas, excerpts, and translation. Please submit within your genre below. Our submission period is now open and all submissions will be considered for our 2021 issue. 

Simultaneous submissions are permitted. We notify us as soon as your work is accepted elsewhere.

We do accept novellas and long-form excerpts, however we do not accept high fantasy or sci-fi at this time. We ask that you include a brief synopsis in your cover letter. We ask that all work be original and previously unpublished.

Our submission window is open from Sept. 15th 2019 to March 2020. We accept short stories, flash fiction (up to 3 pieces under 1,000 words), and essays. Please include a brief cover letter with your submission.  We ask that all submissions be previously unpublished work. Due to our small editorial staff please expect replies anywhere from one to six months after submitting.
